PURPOSE:
This position provides a technical resource specializing in both offline and online programming of CNC machinery and robotic cutting machinery. The person in this role should be able to design, program, fabricate, repair and modify fixtures.
This position will own the functionality and setup process of the robotically programmed machines, the programs on them, and the process that keep them running.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate methods, tools required, and process to execute quoted cycle time for new projects.
• Design, give design feedback, modify fixtures, or create fixtures if required for new products.
• Offline convert CAD Files into cutter paths for CNC equipment to yield expected customer’s parts to specifications, cycle time, and expected safety / policies.
• Own setup process & operation to meet cycle time, simplicity, and quality needs.
• Own maintenance process for precision items related to CNC and robotic machines.
• Train employees on processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.

CRITICAL DUTIES:

• Audit BOM, Work Instructions, Standards, Operators, and paperwork when required.
• Setup, QC check, provide paperwork / feedback to schedule, and run machines when required.
• Understand all of the Responsibilities and tasks of an Operator II.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to Lift 50 lbs and stay on feet for full day.
• Enforce Safety and Company Policies.
• Extensive knowledge of 3D CAM (MasterCam preferred) Programming software.
• Extensive machine programming experience (G&M code for CNC Gantry machines, FANUC for 6 axis Robotic arm)
• Experience with Thermwood Gantry machines and/or FANUC 6 axis robotic arms routing applications preferred.
• Ability to read prints, tolerances, and use QC tools to validate part dimensions (calipers, height gauges, etc)
• Practical knowledge of LM methodologies

• Reports to Tooling Engineer Manager

Pay: $25.21 - $30.36 per hour
