The Production Manager will oversee the manufacturing process of our candy products, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the production floor, coordinating with various departments, and leading a team of production staff to meet the company’s production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning: Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources and timely delivery of products.
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet the company’s quality standards and comply with relevant food safety regulations.
Process Optimization: Analyze production processes and identify areas for improvement, implementing new methods to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Inventory Management: Monitor raw materials and finished goods inventory, coordinating with procurement to ensure availability of necessary materials.
Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations on the production floor, conducting regular safety audits and training.
Cost Management: Monitor production costs and work to optimize expenses without compromising product quality.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production performance, including in/output, quality, and efficiency metrics, and present these to senior management.
Qualifications:
- HACCP, SQF and or BRC certification processes, Food Manager Certification, Food Science, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in a production management role, preferably in the food or confectionery industry.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and food safety standards.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of production equipment, packaging equipment, automation and software training, willingness to learn, and teaching all production equipment to staff.
Work Environment:
The role is primarily based in a production facility, requiring regular interaction with production staff and machinery.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet production deadlines or address issues.

Starting Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and performance bonuses.
