Job Summary:

The Re-sale Shop Sales Associate role provides important support for the organization. In this role, you regularly interact with the public and act as the face of Zaman International. You provide a welcoming and friendly interaction with our clients and donors. You excel in customer service, retail operations and inventory management which enables our team to provide services to marginalized women and their children. We appreciate your courteousness, attention to detail, as well as your adaptability. Your ability to interact with team mates, donors and patrons respectfully as well as cheerfully is important. You report to the Store Supervisor. The position is part-time up to 28 hours between 9:30 to 4:45 Monday thru Saturday, generally, with occasional additional hours and the position is considered hourly, non-exempt.

Essential Functions:

• Opening / closing of store, including balancing the cash register.

• Ensure a positive, welcoming experience for guests by providing quality customer service.

• Assist customers with merchandise selection.

• Maintain stock by pulling old inventory, replenishing new inventory and recording inventory changes, as directed by the Retail Team Supervisor.

• Assure the retail area and displays are in presentable condition.

• Operate cash register program according to policy and instruction.

• Process sales transactions ensuring accuracy of payment.

• Assist with store presentation, marketing, promotions and special events.

• Assist in general housekeeping, including bathrooms, and the maintenance of the store image.

• Assure all shopping baskets are brought in from the parking area.

• Accept donated items and provide an accurate receipt.

• Keep management informed by submitting regular time sheets and as requested reports.

• Understand and comply with store security procedures at the open and close of business.

• Attend team and organization-wide meetings as directed.

Job Specifications:

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED. The successful candidate is prompt and has reliable transportation, experience in retail sales, marketing or customer service. Work pace is steady, requiring lifting and/or carrying of up to 25 lbs consistently. Preferably, this person has experience in an inter-faith setting and representing an organization with the public.
