Zambezi is Hiring an Assistant Media Planner Near Los Angeles, CA

Zambezi’s media division, Scale by Zambezi, is seeking an Assistant Media Planner to join our growing team. Scale is a modern media practice that believes in creative media backed by data. The Assistant Media Planner’s role is to support the team cross-functionally across strategy, planning and execution. Responsibilities will include assisting with the day-to-day during a campaign lifecycle and is a great place to begin your career in media. Candidate must be located within the greater Los Angeles area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

20% - Collaborating with Media Team for strategy and plan development

  • Employs planning, evaluation, and buying tools (i.e. MRI, Comscore, Crimson Hexagon, Bionic, Campaign Manager) for application/analysis into competitive landscape, target digital consumption support, plan development and reporting
  • Assists in creating media-specific documents such as RFPs, media plans, objectives and strategies decks, and other related functions
  • Begins to show critical thinking and analysis to draw conclusions and construe actionable implications
  • Supports team in media plan development stage to collect RFP responses from partner sites, assist in analyzing proposals and partner negotiations
  • Monitors trends, tools, opportunities and applications in paid social media environments, and appropriately apply that knowledge
  • Compile updates on partner capabilities and offerings through vendor contact
  • Participates in team brainstorms to kick off plan and consideration set development

25% - Campaign execution

  • Assists with trafficking plan assets such as creative and required tracking tags
  • Supports in set up of 3rd party ad server/tracker system: follows through to ensure sites are enabled, functioning properly and all materials are received from creative agency
  • Supports in executing Quality Assurance (QA) of tracking functionality and creative units to identify and solve any issues
  • Creates campaign post-launch information such as screenshots, links, and placement information to demonstrate proof of placement for clients

30% - Campaign management

  • Begins to enter plans in billing system (Advantage), tracks insertion orders, creative specifications development, and handles Traffic sheets/creative assignment as necessary
  • Supports in generating insertion orders within internal systems tool to reserve advertising space and is responsible for accuracy of plan details and confirmation of delivery ensuring proper protocol
  • Maintains plan records, insertion orders, contact lists, spec documents, etc.
  • Assists with creating creative allocation sheet and learns about the process with including Account, Production, and Analytics
  • Assists in managing day-to-day communication with key partners: vendors, partner agencies and media and social clients

25% - Reporting on campaign performance

  • Assists in building campaign performance reporting inclusive of aggregating information from third party servers and site direct reporting
  • Supports in evaluating campaign effectiveness via reporting (predetermined cadences) and post-campaign analysis
  • Supports with monitoring and reporting weekly performance, providing an active voice communicating optimization opportunities and challenges, implementing changes in the plan

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with Media or Social Media or Search (ideally an internship)
  • Knowledge of digital and planning & buying
  • Knowledge of traditional planning, a plus
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics/Omniture a plus
  • Knowledge of Facebook/Instagram/Amazon/Affiliate platforms a plus
  • Self-starter, able to work with a high level of independence
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Advanced computer skills (Google Suite MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

The salary range for this position is $50-60K. Exactly where a prospective employee will be paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, the candidate’s depth of experience and qualifications in relation to the job description and the actual job duties of the role. In addition to salary, we also offer comprehensive benefits (covering 100% medical, dental, vision and offer open PTO, and more). The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles to find the right candidate for Zambezi.
