The Zaxby's Franchising Support Center is looking for an Accounting Manager who will provide supervision and direction to the Marketing Accounting Team to ensure accounting records and financials for the Zaxby’s National Marketing Fund and related local cooperative entities are efficiently and effectively maintained. In addition, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for efficiently and effectively maintaining the accounting records and financials for the various properties owned or leased by Zaxby’s Operating Company and its subsidiaries.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Lead various GL projects (i.e. new system implementation, streamlining the month end close process, etc.)
• Maintain and edit marketing accounting team task instructions and update as necessary
• Ensure the completion and accuracy of GL functions which include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Effectively and efficiently manage the monthly GL close process for Zaxby’s marketing entities, real estate entities, and the Zaxby’s parent entity
• Complete and review account reconciliations
• Complete property tax returns as well as ensure timely payment
• Provide support to Corporate Controller for other tax compliance filings
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation and complete auditor requests as necessary
• Review periodic budget vs. actual performance with the Marketing department
• Review and process payments required by the Marketing department in connection with the Accounts Payable team
• Periodically issue distributions to Zaxby’s shareholders
• Able to serve as back up to Corporate Controller as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience in Lawson preferred
• Work in a fast-paced environment, dealing with multiple priorities
• Complete work with many interruptions
• Communicate in writing and verbally with tact, patience, and courtesy

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES

• Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience: Prior experience in supervisory role; 3-5 years or greater of accounting experience preferred
