Zayo is seeking a Head of Fiber Engineering to be responsible for developing and managing the overall strategy and operational activity of the Fiber Engineering and GIS Network Planning teams for Zayo. These teams within the Fiber Operations organization are responsible for designing the physical fiber path across the Zayo network. Additionally, this organization has the overall responsibility to manage the inventory of the Zayo fiber network through database tracking of fiber enclosures, fiber optic cable, conduit, and building data. Our Head of Fiber Engineering will report to our VP, Fiber Operations.

We're open to this role working remotely within the United States.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight to a team of Engineering Managers and Engineers

• Manage Salesforce pipeline and reporting

• Provide monthly, quarterly, reports on each team's performance

• Manage teams to meet or exceed Zayo's goals related to delivery time lines and commitments to our customers

• Monitor internal processes and work with outside stakeholders to continually enhance our process to reach industry leading intervals

• Develop high performing teams by assisting with the development of tools and automation

• Work closely with Service Delivery project management team to ensure all orders are delivered daily/monthly

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or other related technical field, or equivalent work experience orminimum of 8 (eight) years delivery experience as an Engineering Manager

• Proficient in Ethernet and IP Engineering for both core and customer deployments

• Proven experience working with service provider networks in a technical capacity for metro Ethernet products

• Expertise in Metasolv, GE Smallworld, Salesforce, Visio, MS Office suite

• Strong leadership skills

• Ability to quickly adapt and lead change within your organization

• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)

• Excellent relationship management, client facing, negotiation, team-building, and problem-solving skills with experience in presentation to senior levels of the organization

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Ability to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism

• Ability to multitask efficiently

• Be a "self-starter" committed to customer satisfaction/project delivery and able to respond to rapid change within the business

• Preference is given to candidates with education industry knowledge or experience

Base Pay Range: $180,000 - $220,000 USD/annually, commensurate with experience
