Position SummaryThe Retirement Benefits Technician provides administrative support associated with participant and Fund data in accordance with Company policies, regulatory requirements, and Plan guidelines.
"Has minimum necessary access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by Job Description/Role."Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Runs various reports from retirement record keeping systems.
  • Reviews and verifies data from multiple sources to ensure completeness.
    • Researches missing or incorrect information.
    • Enters updates to participant information into appropriate system.
    • Communicates with participants, external fund professionals, or employer contacts as needed.
  • Monitors monthly death notification file.
    • Reviews and verifies information.
    • Makes corrections as needed and updates participant information in appropriate system.
  • Reviews uncashed check reports.
    • Researches instances of unresolved checks or payments.
    • Determines appropriate course of action based on findings; executes resolution.
    • Communicates with participants, external fund professionals, or employer contacts as needed.
  • Coordinates workflow to generate print for mass mailings.
  • Responds to inquiries from participants, external fund professionals, or employer contacts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • No specific work experience required.
  • Working understanding of databases.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials, technical procedures, benefit plans and regulations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office tools and applications with strong skills in Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • TPA or prior pension experience

Working Conditions/Physical Effort
