We are seeking an Associate Attorney with Personal Injury and Workers Compensation experience! The ideal candidate is hardworking, ambitious and has an interest and willingness to learn and grow!
Qualifications and skills
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree & active license to practice law in Illinois.
- 3 years experience as a Personal Injury Attorney with proven track record of successful case outcomes.
- Experience handling Worker's Comp claims.
- Manage a caseload of personal injury litigation/worker's compensation matters from inception to resolution.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings. motions, & other legal documents.
- Represent clients in court hearing, depositions, arbitrations, & mediations.
- Negotiate settlements & communicate effectively with client, opposing counsel & insurance companies.
- Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends in personal injury litigation.
- The ability to handle a large and active caseload from filing through verdict
- Must be a self-starter and goal oriented with a focus on long term career goals
- Pride in your client-focused practice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills that allow you to effectively manage relationships with a variety of people including – investigators, expert witnesses, opposing counsel, clients, etc.
- Ability for assembling and organizing information gathered during discovery for presentation at trial
- A strong courtroom presence and eagerness to try cases
- Must be competent & proficient in the use of Word, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Draft/ review substantive pleadings and motions
- Respond to motions and discovery
- Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, meetings with clients
