Job Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO) (Note: CTO for a Nuclear Energy Company)

Our focus is on integrating state-of-the-art technology to drive the next generation of nuclear fission power plants, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).

Position Summary: The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will play a pivotal role in shaping the technology vision and strategy of the company. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all technology development of the company, ensuring the successful integration and implementation of new cutting-edge nuclear fission technology innovations. The CTO will collaborate closely with the CEO, CNO and other executive team members to align and implement the company’s technology initiatives and innovations. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the company’s technology vision and strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
• Lead and manage technical teams and technical advisory committees, fostering innovation and ensuring the highest standards of technical excellence.
• Drive research and development initiatives to keep the company at the forefront of nuclear technology advancements.
• Collaborate with the Chief Nuclear Officer (CNO) to evaluate technology integrity, safety, and performance.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and business development, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, regulatory meetings, and other public forums.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to support commercial and business development activities. 
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry partners, and customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience working in similar roles with nuclear power plants. Experience with Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), Advanced Modular Reactors (AMRs) and High Temperature Gas Reactors (HTGRs) is a plus. 
• Proven track record for technology leadership in the nuclear power industry.
• Evidence of technical problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards in the nuclear industry.
• Ability to travel as needed to support project and business development activities.
