Infrastructure Engineer

Duration: 6 months. Opportunity for extension.

Location: Onsite (Hybrid) in McLean, VA OR Plano, TX on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Schedule: Some occasional after hours may be required, but it will be flexed throughout the pay period and won't equate to overtime.

Years of experience: 5

Must Haves: Must have a minimum of 5 years of recent, hands-on experience directly with VMware Horizon, supporting mid/large scale VDI deployments, and directly supporting VMware ESXi on-premise environments. Must have application packaging experience using VMware AppVolume. Must have experience using DEM and FSLogix for profile management and optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting ~ 6,000 VDI users at the tier 2/3 level.
• Incident and Task resolution.
• Compliance and security patching/updates.
• Platform upgrades and changes.
• Application packaging using VMware AppVolume.
• Monitoring/alert response.
• On-Call support, after hours work.

Qualifications:

• BA in Computer Science (or related), or equivalent experience.
• 5 years building, deploying and managing VMware Horizon in a medium/large scale environment.
• At least 5 years of experience directly supporting VMware ESXi on-premise environments.
• 3 years developing and maintaining virtual workstation OS images, including optimization and profile management using DEM and FSLogix as well as Application Packaging using AppVolume.
• 3 years of demonstrated experience with monitoring, optimization, including user experience, infrastructure and automated issue resolution.
• Experience supporting a virtual end user platform in a multi-datacenter, multi-domain environment.
• Demonstrated experience with tier 3 end user support.
