What does the job entail?

Monarch Tractor is on the lookout for an innovative and resourceful NPI Program Manager. This critical position requires a dynamic leader to guide our tractor product line through its entire lifecycle, from initial development and design to full-scale production and manufacturing's end. Your efforts will be vital in maintaining Monarch's industry-leading standards.

Responsibilities:

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Foster robust collaboration between engineering, design, manufacturing, quality, and other related teams.
  • Drive alignment between departments, ensuring seamless operations and consistent execution of program goals.

Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA):

  • Lead DFM/DFA initiatives, translating engineering designs into manufacturable products.
  • Initiate virtual and slow builds, utilizing iterative processes to refine designs and validate production feasibility.

Prototyping and Testing:

  • Plan and supervise prototyping and testing efforts in tandem with the DFM/DFA principles.
  • Coordinate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure prototypes meet design requirements and industry regulations.

Supply Chain Management:

  • Act as a bridge between the Supply Chain team, assembly, and engineering teams, facilitating the conveyance of information to ensure timely parts availability and smooth line operations.
  • Coordinate and communicate changes from Engineering that require parts cut-in, working with the Supply Chain team to align vendor changes with line part availability.
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement efficient inventory management strategies, aligning stock levels and lead times with production needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers, acting as a key point of contact to ensure that supply chain processes support manufacturing objectives.

Cost Reduction and Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive cost-saving initiatives through design optimization, material selection, and process enhancement.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, implementing Lean or Six Sigma methodologies where applicable.

Manufacturing Ramp-up:

  • Facilitate the transition from prototype to mass production, ensuring timely and effective scale-up.
  • Collaborate with production managers to align capacity planning and production scheduling.

Quality Assurance:

  • Establish stringent QA standards and inspection protocols, setting KPIs and quality benchmarks.
  • Develop and implement a robust EOL testing regime, working with QA teams to assure product integrity.

Documentation and Training:

  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and training manuals.
  • Design and execute training programs for manufacturing staff, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple cross-functional projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Monitor project milestones, risk assessments, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

  • Ensure all processes and products comply with industry regulations, standards, and environmental considerations. Liaise with legal and regulatory bodies as required.

Issue Identification and Analysis:

  • Monitor and analyze production processes to identify potential issues; collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine root causes and prioritize resolutions.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between production, engineering, infrastructure, and other relevant departments, ensuring seamless communication and information flow. Collaboratively assist the Engineering teams and contract manufacturers in swift issue resolution.

Problem-Solving and Resolution:

  • Coordinate with internal teams to develop and implement timely solutions to production-related issues, in alignment with organizational objectives.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on issue tracking, analysis, and resolutions. Provide regular updates to Senior management on issues and statistics.

Compliance and Standards Adherence:

  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and internal best practices.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes.

Program management coordination:

  • Liaise with external teams, Manufacturing engineering and program management to track and report on program efficiency and gating issues. Works closely with the NPI Program management team to identify risks and assess criticality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field; master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in program or project management within vehicle manufacturing or similar heavy machinery environment.
  • Certifications in Project Management (PMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma are a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of DFM/DFA principles, lean manufacturing methodologies, and quality management systems.
  • Strong leadership skills, with proven success in driving cross-functional teams and process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create compelling presentations and documentation.
