Small, established CPA firm in Independence, Ohio is seeking a Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and interest in tax preparation, tax planning, financial statement analysis, audits, reviews and compilations.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

· Excellent computer skills, particularly with Word, Excel, QuickBooks and UltraTax

· Interact with client and firm personnel in a professional manner

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team, yet function well independently

· Have a strong commitment to superior client service

· Organized and detail oriented

· Be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

· CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus

Duties and Responsibilities

· Prepare tax workpapers and returns for businesses, trusts, and individuals

· Prepare audit, review, and compilation engagement workpapers

· Assist with payroll tax and filing form 1099

· Assist with client bookkeeping projects

· Assist with analysis projects, including financial forecasts, valuations, and succession planning engagements
