Zoetis is Hiring a Production supervisor Near Salisbury, MO

The Team Lead serves as a technical coach and a resource to the process and process teams in the areas of validation, materials conversion, equipment availability planning, and systems integrity.

May lead a group of hourly or salaried technical employees in problem solving processes.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

I. Support Process Needs (concentrates in one or more of the following areas) :

Validation :

  • Coordinates validation processes.
  • Writes and executes protocols, prepares summary reports, coordinates modification change control, and maintains validation documentation.
  • Formulates project proposal and identifies resource needs and alternatives.

Material Conversion :

  • Assists in scheduling maintenance work.
  • Assists Engineering group in process design.
  • Provides technical / troubleshooting expertise to resolve process problems.
  • Maintains process documentation.
  • Evaluates equipment efficiencies and develops proposals for modifications or new installations.

Equipment Availability Planning :

  • Coordinates and prioritizes maintenance needs with process needs.
  • Develops a schedule to ensure maintenance / preventative maintenance activities occur in an optimal manner.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce / minimize repair time.
  • Provides multi-area coordination of activities.

Systems Integrity :

  • Performs product testing.
  • Provides laboratory support whenever necessary to facilitate production needs and provides process / product troubleshooting services.
  • Monitors process systems and utilities for functional and equipment performance.
  • Assists in the engineering and design of distributive control systems.
  • Prepares user requirement documents and SOP's as required.
  • Provides troubleshooting for instrumentation problems.
  • Assists in the installation of new equipment.

II. End-to-End Process Focus and Coordination :

  • Maintains a presence in the process areas, awareness of process performance, and accessibility to team members.
  • Develops and maintains process tracking systems.
  • Participates in running the material conversion process on an as needed basis.
  • Understands the process from the beginning to the end.

III. Team Management :

  • Facilitates the implementation of self-managed teams and the empowerment of team members within area or responsibility.
  • Communicates issues, process problems, and improvement ideas to all affected team members to solicit feedback regarding proposed changes, and to notify of completed changes.
  • Assists in setting, tracking, and meeting team goals.
  • Uses established procedures and interpersonal skills to help solve problems and resolve conflict.
  • Evaluates team effectiveness in resolving problems and helps determine necessary improvement steps
  • Updates team members on departmental, company, process, and team goals and performance.
  • Evaluates and fosters good team dynamic.
  • Oversees maintenance of time and attendance system.

IV. Training :

  • Provides technical coaching within area of specialization.
  • Assists in identifying training needs.
  • Provides training as needed to all team members.

V. Continuous Improvement / Capital Project Participation :

  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and provides input to the Technical Leader regarding operation planning.
  • Assists in the implementation of Continuous Improvement Projects.
  • Participates and provides expertise for Total Predictive Maintenance programs.
  • May monitor construction for conformance to process design documentation.

VI. Safety / Environmental / Regulatory Requirement / Process Safety :

  • Complies with all regulatory requirements. (i.e. EPA, OSHA, cGMP's, FDA)
  • Participates in process hazard analysis.
  • Assists in validation processes as required.
  • Generates, maintains, and reviews SOP's.
  • May assist Process Safety Management in investigations.

Other Duties may be identified and assigned as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

Applicants are required to have knowledge equivalent to technical / trade / business school certificate; an Associate's degree is preferred.

A minimum of 6 years' experience in plant operations or equivalent industry related experience is also required. The successful candidate will have the technical knowledge to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Required Supervisory experience of two or more years leading a team.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS :

  • Ability to methodically perform multiple tasks associated with the production process.
  • Ability to work well in a self-directed or team environment and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Capable of communicating well with other employees relative to production issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow and provide instructions.
  • Proficiency with computers, including e-mail, internet, and online training modules.
  • Ability to access all areas of production facility and to routinely lift 55 pounds.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have Mechanical Troubleshooting abilities.
  • Desire to comply and remain conscious of safety and quality regulations at all times.

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a colleague encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The colleague will be required to utilize certain Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to, hard hats, safety ("steel-toed") shoes, eye protection, gloves, and protective clothing.

The colleague must satisfy requirements of respirator fit testing and use the respirator as required. Must be able to access all areas of the plant.
