Zurich Insurance is seeking a dedicated Medical Bill Review Manager to join our team in Schaumburg, IL.

This role involves managing a team responsible for researching and resolving technical problems in the review of medical bills to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of medical charges in accordance with the national/local regulations and medical fee guidelines, usual and customary methodology, and/or special client instructions. Manages moderate to highly complex transactional and procedural issue escalations. Participates in regular quality audits and/or reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of work performed by the team. This position requires a focus on team coordination, performance management, and continuous development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations, including monitoring, leading, and directing the team in their day-to-day activities
• Manage vendor performance and relationships by ongoing monitoring and conducting quarterly performance reviews
• Identify and address specific needs by collaborating with Technical Claims, business units and partners
• Ensure customer satisfaction by reviewing and analyzing the Managed Care programs and implementing process improvements and program enhancements
• Implement medical bill review strategic plan to improve technical excellence, achieve organizational simplification and maximize the operating model
• Motivate and lead a high-performance team by attracting, on boarding, recruiting, and retaining team members
• Drive the performance management process by communicating job expectations, monitoring, and evaluating performance, providing feedback, and facilitating employee development per the company’s policies
• Maintain transparent communications by appropriately communicating organization information to team through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, appropriate email, and regular interpersonal communications
• Create a workplace culture that is consistent with the Zurich mission, vision, and Zurich Basics
• Protect Zurich's reputation by keeping claims information confidential
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, staying current with industry trends, and establishing personal networks
• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Bill Review area, OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Bill Review area
• 2 or more years of management experience
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 codes and medical terminology
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
