We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Programmer Analyst to join our team in Andover. While prior experience with RPG (Report Program Generator) is highly desirable, it is not a requirement. The ideal candidate will possess a background in programming and a willingness to learn RPG. This role involves working on various tickets, including new feature development, tool creation, and bug fixes.
Pay range $75,000 - $80,000, annually
Responsibilities Include
- Develop, test, and implement new features and tools based on user requirements.
- Diagnose and fix bugs to improve the performance and reliability of our software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand requirements.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of code and system changes.
- Provide support and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in software development using any programming language.
- Understanding of database management and SQL.
- Willingness to learn RPG programming language and adapt to the specific needs of the role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Experience with version control systems.
- Experience with RPG
- Knowledge of IBM i (AS/400) systems.
- Familiarity with agile development practices.
- Be able to lift five pounds or greater
- Be able to sit 90% of the work day at times
- Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
- Be able to read and comprehend position specific documents and correspondence
- Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing
- Be able to travel occasionally when needed by the most efficient means of transportation
- Be able to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
- Be able to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule
