Zwicker is presently seeking a fully remote California-barred Senior Attorney with courtroom experience and clear communication skills to assist West Coast offices with trial strategy, litigation preparation, and client interface. Strategize with attorneys in multiple offices to handle high volume litigation
Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action
Assist local offices with trial preparation, including witness and evidence preparation, and preparation of trial memoranda.
Appear in trial, as necessary
Argue summary judgment motions and discovery dispute motions, as necessary
Communicate with clients and escalate issues to in-house counsel
Prepare motions and memoranda involving unique, novel or complex legal issues
Review and revise discovery responses prepared by local offices, and assist in drafting offensive discovery
Coordinate witness appearances
Analyze inventory reports in Excel
Conduct legal research and analysis
Review and sign pleadings as prepared by staff, as necessary
Utilize internal proprietary software to track litigation files
Comply with all client and firm standard operating procedures
Requirements
Extensive litigation skillset, which includes the expertise to effectively handle all phases of contested lawsuits
Admitted to practice law in the state of California
Excellent verbal and written advocacy
Willingness and ability to mentor associate attorneys
Minimum five years high volume litigation experience
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Willingness to learn proprietary software
Physical Qualifications
Be able to lift five pounds or greater
Be able to sit 90% of the work day at times
Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
Be able to read and comprehend position specific documents and correspondence
Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing
Be able to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
Be able to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule
