Department of Computer Science, Aarhus University is looking for a Post Doc in Interaction Techniques for Industrial Decision Support Systems

A post doc position is available in the Human Centred Computing section at Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University.

The postdoc position is part of the Manufacturing Academy of Denmark (MADE) Center (www.made.dk) project REACT. The aim of the Post Doc position is to do research in industrial integration of digital decision support systems based on real-time data from e.g. Digital Twin infrastructures. The interaction techniques will involve Information Visualization methods and Augmented Reality to support digital decision making in industrial work environments. The research should support development of industrial strength solutions that scale in terms of globality and volume with a world class user experience.

The position is for two years and the starting date is expected to be July 1st 2025.

Tasks:
The responsibilities of the successful applicant would include research on the above topics in collaboration with other post docs and PhDs at Department of Computer Science and Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as industrial project partners and the Alexandra Institute. In addition to research, there may be modest teaching and service tasks.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have extensive expertise and research experience in industrial equipment like robots, data analysis, information visualization, and Augmented Reality. Experience with HoloLens integration with manufacturing equipment would be an advantage.. General software architecture and development skills are also needed. Finally, experiences with field studies and evaluations are needed for the prototyping and case-driven collaboration with the industrial partners. The candidate should be able to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team.

Computer Science in Aarhus was founded in 1971 as part of the Department of Mathematical Sciences. The Department of Computer Science became independent in 1998 and today the department in is internationally recognized among the top groups in several research fields. The department has 40 senior faculty members and a total of 160 employees, including PhD students.

Formalities and salary range
Natural Sciences refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The application must be in English and include a curriculum vitae, degree certificate, a complete list of publications, a statement of future research plans and information about research activities, teaching portfolio and verified information on previous teaching experience (if any). Appointment shall be in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Salary depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Confederation of Professional Associations.
