PV Civil Engineer (m/f) - Porto

Eurowind Energy is a Danish limited liability company, which over the years has become a leading developer and operator of photovoltaic, wind turbine and P2X projects. The company has more than 2000 MW of operating assets under management in several countries across Europe and has been increasing its presence throughout the European market, including Portugal. The operations in the Southern European Region are run by the Portuguese office which also hosts a competence centre for solar projects for the whole group.

Due to our recent growth in development, construction and operation of renewable power plants, we are currently looking for a PV Civil Engineer for the Portuguese market. This job offers you the possibility of being part of a growing technical and commercial team, who backs other group’s affiliates, while working on a fast growth “startup environment” backed by a large international group

Main responsibilities:
Reporting to our Technical Manager, the candidate will provide support to the group HQ and all affiliates who intend to develop photovoltaic (PV) projects in their markets. The role will include:

• Supporting the civil engineering related design and required tasks during development phase in Portugal;
• Support other geographies in PV civil related issues;
• Supporting the vendors’ selection and accreditation process;
• Supporting on the project permitting processes in Portugal;
• Defining technical specs and adjudicating pre-construction tasks like topographic surveys, geotechnical tests, civil execution designs, etc;
• Evaluate geotechnical and topographic surveys;
• Develop execution design in the area of civil works of PV power plants;
• Assisting on the supervision of the execution civil design prior to construction, the civil installation and commissioning during construction and the civil works operation & maintenance activity during projects’ lifetime, in Portugal;
• Providing technical support to the PV development activity and to the construction activity, in Portugal;
• Providing estimates as inputs to the budgeting activity for all the PV projects;
• Developing other engineering-related tasks connected to PV plants in general.

You are expected to be permanently updated on the renewable energy industry market and trends.

The profile requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of experience working in a similar role, preferably in the renewable energy sector;
• Experience in civil engineering design and calculations, namely for earth movements, roads and drainage preferably in the renewable energy sector;
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, planning and organizational skills;
• Proficiency in MSOffice, CAD and GIS tools;
• Fluent in English (command of other languages will be considered a plus);
• University degree in Civil Engineering;
• Ability to be based in Porto but to travel occasionally to project sites both nationally and internationally.

Furthermore, you could have experience/skills in:

• Design and calculations of structures;
• Permitting of large projects;
• Power to X projects and technologies;
• Written and oral communication in Spanish and/or Italian.
