Your Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Business Development Director for the EMEA region, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic growth of Gomspace’s business. This includes working across a variety of sectors, from government to academia to industry, and translating political and market trends into tangible opportunities.
In this role, you will take charge of building and executing strategies that expand GomSpace’s footprint across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. You’ll be responsible for nurturing key relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and guiding projects from the early stages to full implementation. This role requires a combination of political acumen, market insight, and a results-driven approach — all while maintaining focus on customer success and long-term impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading and expanding business development activities across the EMEA region, working closely with other BD Directors focused on different sectors such as Defence and Institutional.
• Building and nurturing strong relationships with key stakeholders in industry, academia, government, and political spheres, becoming the “go-to-person” for space-related topics within the region.
• Translating national policies, political targets, and strategies into relevant projects that gain traction with government entities and support space-related initiatives.
• Developing country-specific plans with clear short, mid, and long-term strategies, measurable targets, and business expectations.
• Building and executing capture strategies for RFPs, tenders, and grants, aligning them with GomSpace value proposition and ensuring internal clarity on priorities.

We’re seeking a results-oriented leader who can spot opportunities before others, develop relationships with key decision-makers, and navigate complex political and institutional landscapes with ease. You will need a strong understanding of public sector procurement processes and how to drive initiatives that align with both customer needs and business objectives.

We imagine you have:
• A proven track record in business development within government, space, or defence sectors, with experience navigating complex decision-making processes and long sales cycles.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at the highest levels, including ministerial and diplomatic.
• A strategic mindset and a bias for execution, coupled with the ability to adapt and pivot as markets, policies, and opportunities evolve.
• Fluency in English, with additional languages (e.g. Spanish, Arabic) seen as a strong advantage.
• An existing network in the governmental and defence sectors is a strong plus, as well as a technical understanding of space systems and solutions.
