Job Posting for Software Engineering Team Leader at Omnidocs

Are you inspired by the idea of leading a close-knit pizza-sized team, staying hands-on in the code while mentoring and empowering bright, enthusiastic engineers? Do you thrive in an environment where continuous change is the norm, collaboration is fun, and there’s real room to grow? Come help us shape what we deliver, and how we deliver it at Omnidocs.

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

About Omnidocs and the Role

Omnidocs is on an exciting journey to unify our continuously acquired products into one cohesive platform, leveraging a build-and-buy strategy that expands our technology landscape and creates new growth opportunities. As a Software Engineering Team Leader for our Omnidocs Create document generation solution, you will lead a team dedicated to next-generation document automation, or DocGen as we usually call it. You will balance people leadership, technical oversight, and hands-on engineering work—guiding the team to deliver both robust system health and business value together with the Product Owner. You will be reporting to the CTO.

You’ll be based in our Copenhagen office, right in the historic and vibrant neighbourhood of Christianshavn, where you will collaborate closely with your team. Cross-collaboration is a major part of this role as we will over time consolidate multiple products and product clusters into a single, unified platform across our global engineering community.

We believe that the strongest bonds and most meaningful collaborations form when people are truly present with one another. While we embrace flexibility in how and where we work, we also find great value in in-person interaction with a focus on empathy, openness, and shared insights. For us, small talk by the coffee machine isn’t just breaks, but opportunities for meaningful interactions and idea exchanges.

At Omnidocs, we value transparency, openness, and constructive critique, encouraging team members to voice concerns and share insights. We value a fun office culture balanced with efficiency, welcoming contributions from all to enhance collective success.

Key Responsibilities

1. People Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and develop engineers with a collaborative culture: Provide hands-on training, guidance, and regular feedback through one-on-one sessions and annual performance reviews.
  • Skill development: Identify gaps in the team’s expertise, coordinate learning opportunities (internal workshops, external courses), and ensure knowledge is widely shared to avoid single-point dependencies.
  • Career guidance: Offer coaching and advice on career paths, advocating for team members’ professional growth and promotions.
  • Conflict resolution: Mediate conflicts by steering the team toward data-driven, fact-based solutions, keeping morale and productivity high.
  • Team recognition: Celebrate achievements and reinforce positive outcomes, fostering a sense of accomplishment and ownership.

2. Technical Leadership & Best Practices

  • Technical decision-making: Partner with your team to define and uphold coding standards, architectural guidelines, and development best practices—without duplicating the coding tasks of individual engineers.
  • Hands-on engineering: Contribute code, review pull requests and assist in troubleshooting complex issues to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Emerging technologies: Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies for potential adoption to maintain a modern and efficient tech stack.

3. Process Facilitation & Collaboration

  • Agile ceremonies: Work with the Product Owner to empower meaningful sprint ceremonies (stand-ups, retrospectives, etc.) and remove blockers so the team can meet sprint goals efficiently.
  • Resource allocation: Negotiate timelines and resources for realistic project planning, helping the team balance system health with feature delivery with the Product Owner.
  • Global collaboration: Coordinate with fellow people, technical, and product leaders to align on platform-wide initiatives, ensuring cross-functional collaboration as Omnidocs moves toward a unified platform.
  • Escalation point: Act as a go-to person for issues beyond the team’s normal scope, stepping up in moments of incidents or when senior leadership is unavailable.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Collaboration-first mentality: You thrive in a team environment, enjoying cross-functional collaboration with colleagues and leaders from across the organization.
  • Technical expertise: Strong background in software development; you’re comfortable diving into code, performing code reviews, and guiding architecture. Competent in the .NET ecosystem and C# is expected.
  • Agile mindset: Familiarity with agile frameworks, able to balance process rigor with flexibility to adapt to changing needs and prioritise.
  • Leadership experience: Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop teams, drive culture, and manage performance.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and spoken English. Adept at conveying complex technical ideas, negotiating deadlines, and resolving conflicts.

Why Join Omnidocs

  • Impactful role: You’ll shape the future of our unified platform strategy, directly influencing both people and technology.
  • Vibrant office culture: Located in Christianshavn, our Copenhagen office offers a dynamic, creativity-fuelled environment with close-knit collaboration and lunch in our canteen by the harbor.
  • Global reach: Work with a diverse group of experts from across the world, as our company continuously expands through strategic acquisitions.
  • Professional growth: We value continuous learning, offering ample opportunities to upskill and innovate.
  • Flexibility & support: We recognize the importance of a balanced life, providing opportunities for flexible scheduling.
