Senior Analytics Engineer

About the job | Collaboration & business insights
As an Analytics Engineer at Tryg, you'll work at the intersection of our data platform and the business, focusing on developing and delivering data products that drive business value. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing clean, transformed data ready for analysis, following and developing standards to ensure interoperability between data products
• Applying data modeling skills to build foundational data products
• Implementing software engineering best practices for analytics code (version control, testing, continuous integration)
• Writing complex SQL transformations and maintaining our data transformation codebase using SQLMesh
• Maintaining data documentation and definitions
• Ensuring compliance-first approach in data product development
• Automating and streamlining key data processing jobs (data cleaning, historizing)

You will work closely with your colleagues to ensure our data products are competitive and valuable. We offer a dynamic and supportive work environment with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Your primary assignment will be to focus on the needs of Affinity, building data product for their specific needs, while making sure that what is build also adheres to the overall strategic goal of building with a “scandi mindset”.

About you | Sharp analyst with strong communication skills
We are looking for someone who has strong technical skills in modern data warehouse setup, including applied experience with DWH data modeling and data warehousing principles. You should be self-driven with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, have a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, and possess an architectural understanding with a structured approach to process building.

For you to succeed, you should have:

• Proficiency in SQL, GitLab, and SQLMesh
• Experience with Rising Wave, Cloud, Kubernetes, Python, JSON, GraphQL, Kafka, YAML, and DataOps processes (preferred)
• Clear communication skills in English and preferably one Scandinavian language (verbal and written)

While not required, it would be advantageous if you have experience in the insurance industry, knowledge of streaming architecture versus batch architecture, and/or an understanding of the ACORD model.
