About Infectious Disease Preparedness at Statens Serum Institut (SSI)
Statens Serum Institut (SSI) is responsible for the Danish preparedness against infectious diseases, covering both diagnostic preparedness and epidemiological preparedness. SSI is a One Health institute: in addition to being a public health institute, SSI has veterinary preparedness functions in collaboration with University of Copenhagen. All activities are based on scientific evidence from research, surveillance and investigation of outbreaks, and many activities are conducted in national and international collaborations. SSI’s Secretariat for Infectious Disease Preparedness and One Health is a multidisciplinary, international team of about 15 colleagues. SSI is very active in EU-projects in the field of infectious disease preparedness.
EU-projects are only one of the tasks of the Secretariat for Infectious Disease Preparedness and One Health. We organise weekly preparedness meetings, maintain an overview of topics of relevance for preparedness, and participate in the operational infectious disease preparedness. Moreover, we coordinate risk assessment work, literature reviews, and collection of data and information to various written products. We support coordinated collaboration across SSI and with external stakeholders in Denmark, in the EU and globally.
Your work tasks
You will be supporting coordination and reporting of a palette of EU-projects at different stages.

The focus during the first months will be supporting periodic reporting of projects, which is a good way to learn about the projects.

Education, experience and personal qualifications
You are a university student with interest in international collaborations. You are good in communication in written and spoken English. You have skills, some experience and/or interest in some of the following:
You are structured, good in keeping deadlines, and interested in working in international collaborations.
Terms of employment
The work time will be on average 15 hours per week, with flexibility for e.g. exam periods.
You will be employed in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Public Employees’ Organizations – the State Sector (OAO-S collective agreement), as well as the applicable organizational agreement with HK/Stat for office workers, laboratory technicians, and IT employees (HK), pursuant to the provisions of the agreement concerning hourly-paid employees.
