Job Purpose and Organizational Context
UN City Copenhagen comprises two campuses. Campus 1 on Marmorvej today houses 12 UN entities with approximately 1,500 staff members representing more than 100 nationalities.
The Common services unit at UN City is responsible for the food and beverage service at Campus 1 and as such responsible for implementing initiatives assuring ongoing focus on the work environment, sustainability, and quality as all UN agencies have commonly agreed on.
The new food and beverages team is intended to assure top-class culinary, mostly plant-based, experience in the in-house canteen, café, and catering services. It is expected to lead a transformative journey that requires good communication, monitoring and reporting, and strong engagement with staff and visitors.
Now we are looking for an experienced Front of house assistant, with the potential to independently communicate with clients, make offers in communication with the kitchen and execute the service together with the colleagues from the catering team.
If you are flexible for last minute change of schedule, follow up on emails daily, but never work in the weekends, then you might be the perfect candidate.
We offer a five-day working week of 40 hours per week, mainly during office-working days. Few times a month there will be early evening events. The contract is a UNDP for 8 months with a good remuneration that is tax free.
Duties and Responsibilities
Independently communicate with clients, by email, booking system and in person.
Execute the service together with the colleagues from the catering team.
Produce invoices and support the project with ad hoc administrative tasks.
Budgeting for staff costs, awareness of profit and loss in the process.
Responds calmly in some times very busy environment, work under pleasure.
Be passionate and experienced with plant-based food, have a sustainable mindset, and a big plus is knowledge of dietary restrictions and recipes development for this purpose.
Understanding and communication for UN SDG´s in all levels, communicating the same with clients, collection of data regarding the sustainability approach of our project.

Under the supervision of the Front of house manager, the Front of house assistant will provide services ensuring high quality and accuracy of work.

Experience: Running food and beverages projects for large canteens, hotels, event centres etc.
