With a proven track record in mission-critical projects, the company is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Business Development to expand its presence in the data centre and mission-critical sectors across the Europe.
Role Overview:
The Director of Business Development – Mission Critical (Data Centres) will be responsible for leading and executing growth strategies within the mission-critical sector, with a primary focus on data centres. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry, strong relationships with key stakeholders, and a proactive approach to identifying and securing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and influential leader with a track record of successfully driving revenue growth within the MEP consultancy, construction, or technology sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to drive growth in the mission-critical and data centre sectors.
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, forging strong relationships with clients, developers, contractors, and industry partners.
Collaborate closely with internal engineering and design teams to align business strategies with technical capabilities.
Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, emerging technologies, and opportunities for expansion.
Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand presence and market positioning.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and projects, ensuring consistent revenue growth.
Work closely with marketing and communications teams to develop targeted campaigns and proposals.
Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring strong commercial outcomes for the business.
Provide strategic input into business planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Key Requirements:
Extensive experience in business development, sales, or client management within the MEP engineering, construction, or mission-critical sectors.
Strong knowledge of the data centre industry, including market trends, key players, and technical considerations.
Established network of contacts within data centre developers, hyperscale providers, colocation providers, contractors, and design consultants.
Proven track record of securing and managing large-scale projects in mission-critical environments.
Ability to communicate complex engineering solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
Commercial acumen with the ability to identify and leverage growth opportunities.
A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with a results-driven approach.
Degree in engineering, business, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
Fluent in English and German
