With a proven track record in mission-critical projects, the company is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Business Development to expand its presence in the data centre and mission-critical sectors across the Europe.


Role Overview:

The Director of Business Development – Mission Critical (Data Centres) will be responsible for leading and executing growth strategies within the mission-critical sector, with a primary focus on data centres. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry, strong relationships with key stakeholders, and a proactive approach to identifying and securing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and influential leader with a track record of successfully driving revenue growth within the MEP consultancy, construction, or technology sectors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to drive growth in the mission-critical and data centre sectors.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, forging strong relationships with clients, developers, contractors, and industry partners.
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering and design teams to align business strategies with technical capabilities.
  • Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, emerging technologies, and opportunities for expansion.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand presence and market positioning.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and projects, ensuring consistent revenue growth.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications teams to develop targeted campaigns and proposals.
  • Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring strong commercial outcomes for the business.
  • Provide strategic input into business planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.


Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in business development, sales, or client management within the MEP engineering, construction, or mission-critical sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of the data centre industry, including market trends, key players, and technical considerations.
  • Established network of contacts within data centre developers, hyperscale providers, colocation providers, contractors, and design consultants.
  • Proven track record of securing and managing large-scale projects in mission-critical environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex engineering solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to identify and leverage growth opportunities.
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with a results-driven approach.
  • Degree in engineering, business, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Fluent in English and German
