We are looking for an experienced and visionary Principal Data Scientist (Researcher) to join our Matching team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in conducting advanced research, and driving the evolution of matching algorithms to efficiently connect riders with drivers while optimizing marketplace performance. You will collaborate with a team of talented researchers and engineers to deliver cutting-edge solutions, ensuring the seamless integration of data-driven insights and scalable algorithms into our platform. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, balance, and overall success of our marketplace.
Responsibilities
Conduct advanced research, evaluation, and improvement of algorithms for order-driver matching and ranking optimization;
Maximize marketplace efficiency through innovative approaches to free auction mechanics and dynamic matching strategies;
Develop and test hypotheses to identify growth points in existing algorithms and present results to business stakeholders in an actionable manner;
Design, implement, and analyze A/B testing experiments to validate algorithm improvements and inform future strategies;
Lead efforts to develop and productionize advanced analytical models and algorithms, ensuring scalability and reliability;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new findings and improvements into product and engineering workflows.
Qualifications
5 years of experience in data analytics, data science, or a related field, with a focus on algorithmic research and optimization;
Strong mathematical background, particularly in mathematical statistics, discrete optimization theory, and causal inference;
Expertise in tabular ML, recommendation systems, and search algorithms;
Preferable experience with economic models and auction mechanics;
Exceptional analytical mindset: structured, critical thinking with the ability to balance resource investments against business impact;
Advanced proficiency in SQL: skilled in handling large datasets, writing and optimizing complex queries;
Proficiency in Python and associated tools (data processing libraries, databases, development workflows), familiarity with high load services;
Proven ability to lead research projects, mentor team members, and drive the adoption of data-driven solutions.
