Dental Hygienist

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Provide high-quality dental hygiene services to patients in a caring and professional manner.
• Oral Health Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ oral health, including gum disease and other dental issues, and document findings accurately.
• Preventive Care: Perform preventative dental treatments, including scaling, polishing, and applying sealants and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
• Education and Counseling: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary recommendations, and the importance of regular dental visits to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
• Assist in Treatments: Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with practice protocols and regulations.
• Infection Control: Adhere to all infection control protocols and practice guidelines to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Patient Comfort: Ensure patient comfort and anxiety management during treatments, creating a positive experience for all.

Requirements:

• Qualified Dental Hygienist with valid registration with the Irish Dental Council.
• Previous experience in a dental hygiene role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of dental hygiene practices, procedures, and instruments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient education and care.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dental team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
