SUMMARY:
Our client is an expanding international M&E consultancy with a proven track record in low-energy design, focused on providing excellent design solutions to clients. They are seeking an experienced Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join their growing Dublin office. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of projects, including data centres, industrial, commercial, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical facilities. Experience in delivering European data centres and mission-critical projects is essential. Additional experience in sectors such as process pharmaceuticals, healthcare, commercial sectors, labs, and clean rooms is highly desirable.

DUTIES:

• Manage full instrumentation and controls (I&C) design on projects of all sizes.
• Perform I&C design work including P&ID markups, instrument data sheets, control valve sizing, typical installations, detailed I/O lists, ATEX calculations, URS creation, control schematics, loop diagrams, and PLC/DCS specifications.
• Prepare and review I&C drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
• Provide quality control for electrical engineering projects when requested.
• Specify required equipment based on project needs.
• Organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks efficiently within tight schedules.
• Control project costs to ensure projects remain within financial targets.
• Manage project teams and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Lead the adoption and implementation of new technologies within instrumentation and controls.
• Mentor and support the development of junior team members.
• Travel to client and project locations as necessary for meetings, surveys, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience / Diploma:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer, covering the duties outlined above.
• BEng in Electrical/Electronics, Instrument Physics, or a related field.
• Chartered status or progress toward chartership is highly advantageous.

Skills / Specific Knowledge:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must hold a valid Irish driving licence.
• Fluency in English and eligibility to work in Ireland.

SPECIFIC BUSINESS UNDERSTANDING:

• A background in consulting or construction is preferred.
• Strong understanding of international operations in a global consultancy environment.
• Commitment to ethical practices, in line with the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines.
