Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Dublin or Cork. This role involves mechanical design for European data centre and mission-critical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead large-scale projects, managing mechanical and electrical engineering services across various building types
• Develop and specify controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering applications
• Conduct surveys, testing, and reporting on existing mechanical and electrical installations
• Ensure construction, installation, and testing align with specifications and client requirements
• Make key project decisions, liaise directly with clients, and provide expert technical advice
• Represent the company at technical meetings with clients, design teams, and contractors
• Perform and validate engineering calculations and designs to ensure compliance with industry standards
• Coordinate engineering services with an integrated approach to project delivery
• Mentor and support junior engineers and team members

Role Requirements:

• BSc/BEng in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• MCIBSE/MIEE membership or HNC/HND with relevant experience
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status
• Strong background in mechanical and electrical design across multiple sectors
• Solid knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, British Standards (BS), and industry codes
• Proficiency in MS Office and engineering design software
• Excellent project management, organisational, and presentation skills
• Previous experience in a consulting or construction environment preferred
• Familiarity with international projects and working within a global consultancy
• Commitment to ethical and professional standards
