CNC Machinist/Programmer

Hartley People Recruitment on behalf of our client are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to join their team in the Kilkenny area. This is a full-time, permanent position where the successful candidate will program and operate CNC machines for both turning and milling. You will support the production of parts and components from drawings and models. The role involves varied work and requires a practical, hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Program and run CNC turning and milling machines
• Set up jobs, load tools, and inspect parts
• Manufacture custom tools, jigs, and components
• Adjust programs and setups to improve quality and output
• Troubleshoot machine or process issues
• Maintain machines, tooling, and workspace
• Always follow safety procedures
• Work with engineers and other machinists to improve processes

Key Requirements

• Previous CNC machining and programming experience
• Skilled in both turning and milling
• Able to read and understand technical drawings
• Confident with setup, tool selection, and offsets
• Solid knowledge of materials and cutting tools
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Focused on accuracy, speed, and meeting deadlines
