Hartley People Recruitment in partnership with our client are hiring an Automation Technician in Waterford.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our client’s team as an Automation Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining automation equipment in line with health & safety, operational, and quality work instructions, procedures, and policies to ensure the production of quality products in a timely, safe, efficient, and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain automation equipment ensuring consistent quality and performance.
· Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues using systematic problem-solving techniques.
· Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and complete all associated paperwork.
· Lead and implement process improvements for greater efficiency.
· Assist with the commissioning of new equipment and projects.
· Manage stock levels of spare parts and ensure availability.
· Provide training to other technicians as required.
· Support safety and quality programs and initiatives.
· Ensure compliance with GMP standards in all practices.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Skills and Requirements:
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Innovative approach to complex technical challenges.
· Knowledge of change management and cGMP requirements.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications:
· Level 6, Level 7, or Level 8 HETAC qualification in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical/Automation Engineering, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a similar field.
· Industrial experience is also acceptable for qualified trades personnel.
· Experience in high-volume automation/robotics is required.
· Prior experience in a healthcare or medical device manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
· Knowledge of Pneumatics, Electronics, Hydraulics, Programmable Controllers, Servo Motor drives, Vision systems, Ultrasonic welding, and workshop machining is preferred.
· Understanding of Process Capability and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) or Gauge R&R.
· Experience in leading process improvement projects in a medical device environment.
· Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Installation, Operational, and Performance Qualification (IOPQ) of automated assembly lines.
