Apprentice Mechanic

As part of our strategic growth plan, McBreen Environmental are seeking a dedicated Apprentice Mechanic to join our team. Whether you're in your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of your apprenticeship. This role offers a great opportunity to work with our fleet of light commercial vehicles and cars, with the chance to gain experience with HGVs. You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining and servicing our company vehicles, ensuring they stay in optimal condition.

The Role:

• Perform routine servicing and maintenance on the company’s fleet of light commercial vehicles and cars.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults in vehicles, ensuring high standards of work.
• Learn and develop the skills required to maintain and service LGVs and Cars under the guidance of senior mechanics.
• Work on routine inspections, including tyre checks, brake services, oil changes, and more.
• Assist with vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ensure all vehicles are compliant with safety regulations and company standards.
• Keep accurate records of all servicing and repairs completed on vehicles.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.

The Ideal Candidate:
General mechanical background or previous experience in a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd-year apprenticeship (or equivalent),

• A passion for working with vehicles and a desire to learn new skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A practical and hands-on approach to work.
• Previous experience with vehicle maintenance (advantageous but not essential).
• Full B driving license (preferred but not required).
• Good English and communication skills with a positive, proactive attitude.
