Staff Nurse - Intellectual Disabilities

Our client, a trusted provider of residential services for adults and children with intellectual disabilities, is hiring a Staff Nurse to join their team in South Limerick.

This is a permanent, full-time role with attractive rota options.

It is ideal for someone who is passionate about person-centred care and supporting individuals in leading fulfilling lives within their community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high quality nursing care in line with An Bord Altranais and HIQA standards
• Support the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of service users
• Create and implement individualised care and support plans
• Assist with behaviour support and daily living skills
• Encourage community participation and inclusion
• Keep accurate care plans, reports, and medication records
• Work closely with families, guardians, and external professionals
• Supervise and guide support staff
• Oversee household budgets and local purchasing
• Provide support to other services within the organisation when required

Role Requirements:

• Nursing qualification and current registration with An Bord Altranais
• R.N.I.D. qualification desirable
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
• Experience in managing behaviours that challenge
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to promoting independence through person-centred care

Desirable Attributes:

• Experience in planning educational or vocational programmes
• Understanding of relevant legislation
