Role Introduction:

The AA is embarking on an exciting growth and transformation phase and is seeking to recruit Apprentice Mechanics for our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) Workshop in (Ballymount, Cork, Limerick, Newbridge).

As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will work alongside experienced mechanics, assisting with vehicle servicing, diagnostics, and repairs to the highest standards. In our modern workshop, you’ll gain hands-on experience with the latest tools and technologies, including hybrid and electric models, while receiving ongoing training in emerging automotive advancement. This role offers a great opportunity to develop your skills in a professional and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the technicians in diagnosing mechanical issues and carrying out repairs on a variety of vehicles.
  • Gain hands-on experience in routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tyre rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
  • Observe and develop troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical problems, learning to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Support the team in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment, following health and safety regulations.
  • Learn to identify and replace worn or faulty vehicle components under supervision.
  • Develop an understanding of workshop procedures, customer service standards, and industry best practices.
  • Stay engaged in ongoing training and development to enhance technical knowledge and practical skills.

The Candidate should have the following:

  • Leaving Certificate or 5 Achieved Subjects in Junior Certificate
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Ability to meet efficiency and productivity standards.
  • Hold a full, clean driving license or be in the process of obtaining one, is a plus.
  • Maintain high work standards with strong motivation and attention to detail.
  • Exhibit excellent teamwork and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Be dependable, punctual, and committed to delivering exceptional service.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: €27,000.00 per year
