The Role: To assist Management to ensure that that Kitchen and back of house areas are maintained to a high level of cleanliness and that food is handled and stored in a hygienic manner in line with Company procedures.
Responsible for: As a Kitchen Porter you are responsible for General Kitchen duties as instructed by Management and Chefs.
Reporting to: You will report to the Head Chef, Chefs or such person as designated by management.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that you receive a handover briefing at the beginning of your shift to ensure that you are aware what needs attention during your shift.
- Provide an excellent back-up service to the Kitchen team in order to ensure that customer’s orders are served in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the kitchen area is constantly maintained to a high level of cleanliness at all times.
- Operate dishwashing equipment to ensure all dishes are cleaned and sanitized.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, and equipment regularly
- Empty waste and recycling bins regularly.
- Follow instructions from chefs and cooks.
- Aid in monitoring cooking times and assist with plating and presentation
- Ensure that all storage areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff members to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Ensure that all food processing equipment is cleaned thoroughly as required.
- Adhere to all cleaning schedules and complete all paperwork associated with the recording of all cleaning.
- Adhere to all principles of Food Hygiene and HACCP.
- Cleaning of all staff areas including locker rooms, toilets and staff dining area, back of house as required.
- Ensure that a complete handover is done with the on-coming shift and that any checklists, reports and tasks have been completed.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Porter or similar role.
- Must be flexible for Early & Late shifts.
- Outstanding communication skills
- Previous experience working in a Hotel (Essential)
