1-Step Ahead is dedicated to providing high-quality early intervention services to young children with developmental delays and disorders. Our mission is to empower children and their families by offering individualized support that promotes communication, social skills, and overall development. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team as a part-time Early Interventionist, with the possibility to move to full-time. This position is PERFECT for providers currently working in the schools and are looking for some extra income!
**If looking to start at full-time, we can provide you with training to become a Registered Behavior Technician while we build your Speech case load**
Job Description:
As Early Intervention SLP/SLPA, you will work with children who have speech, language, and communication challenges with in their home setting. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized intervention plans that address each child’s unique needs. This role involves working directly with children and their families in their homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine the speech, language, and communication needs of each child.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Provide direct therapy to children using evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to support the child’s progress.
- Monitor and document each child’s progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Educate and coach parents and caregivers on strategies to support communication development at home.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with company policies and state regulations.
Qualifications:
- For SLP: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- For SLPA: Bachelor's degree or certificate in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or certification as an SLP or SLPA.
- Experience working with young children, particularly in early intervention, is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and early intervention practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting children’s development.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for home visits (if applicable).
