Job Description The Vice President provides operational and strategic leadership for Advanced Practice Providers and Ambulatory Nursing across the enterprise in collaboration with executive leaders and physicians within Children’s Physician Group and Centers. This leader functions as primary resource in advanced practice regarding recruitment and retention, scope of practice, utilization and collaborative practice models, credentialing, orientation, compensation, professional development, student placement, regulatory and compliance. Establishes and maintains excellence in ambulatory nursing. Responsible for creating and supporting processes that support care across the continuum from acute care to ambulatory that improve clinical efficiencies, throughput, and comprehensive patient care needs. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer, Children 's Physician Group with dotted line reporting to the Chief of Children's Physician Group and Chief of Nursing. Experience 10 years’ experience in clinical operations, healthcare management Experience leading and building a strong proven clinical organization and infrastructure Experience building and maintaining partnerships between clinical and non-clinical stakeholders Experience in overseeing multiple functions with track record of leading successful strategic plan development and implementation Preferred Qualifications PhD or Doctorate in Nursing MBA or MHA Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a formal Pediatric Nurse Practitioner training program (MSN) or a graduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant program Certification Summary Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact AND Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state of Georgia OR licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Georgia Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANP), Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) OR Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 60 days of hire for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants working in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Anesthesia, Hematology/Oncology, and Critical Care (Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants working in Neonatology may provide NRP certification in lieu of PALS) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of complex healthcare operations Ability to influence, manage, and execute change Effective communicator with diverse audiences Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to build effective, collaborative, high performing teams Ability to collaborate with physician, nursing, and executive partners Demonstrated business and clinical acumen Listening, adaptability, problem solving, personal motivation, prioritization, organization, sensitivity, positive behavior, strong values, negotiating skills and aptitudes Systems thinker Excellent working knowledge of RN and APRN/NP, scope of practice Job Responsibilities Set strategic vision and workforce priorities for advanced practice providers and ambulatory nursing and align with system strategic plan Set advanced practice and ambulatory nursing clinical practice standards Maintain adherence to regulatory, licensing, and compliance requirements Promote engagement and retention metrics Set measurable strategic, quality, and financial metrics Recruit and retain strong talent Ensure collaboration to provide clinical orientation training, competency assessment, and professional development programs Responsible for care standardization across area of responsibility Responsible for clinical resource management and strategies to meet staffing needs and financial plans Incorporate advanced practice and ambulatory nursing into strategic and operational planning cycle Collaborates with Chief physicians, VPs of Nursing, Children's Physician Group and Center leadership, Chief Medical and Nurse Officers in meeting quality and strategic goals Accountable for the development of innovative care models to achieve ongoing growth in providers and productivity of APPs that demonstrates top of license practice and leads to increased access and improved quality Provide leadership to APPs practicing throughout the enterprise through excellent management, coaching, and mentoring to professional development of the APPs in concert with the organizational mission, values, and goals Serves as a resource to the organization and physician leadership regarding APP models of care that are best suited for Children's through scope of practice and how APPs support the mission, vision, and values of Children's.
