JOB SUMMARY
The Compensation Analyst is responsible for analyzing, supporting the development and implementation of Denny’s compensation programs. This role involves conducting market research, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and providing data-driven recommendations to attract, retain, and motivate talent while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Key Responsibilities)
Compensation Analysis & Management
- Assist on annual salary administration programs, including salary structure creation and maintenance and development of incentive programs.
- Assist on evaluating benchmark salary structure to ensure the company remains competitive in the market
- Evaluate job descriptions and classify positions within Denny’s pay structure.
- Maintenance of jobs in HRIS system, Compensation tool and internal drives.
- Conduct compensation analysts and provide pay recommendations.
- Assist on execution of compensation, such as merit, bonuses, etc.
- Conduct compensation survey participations and analysis of the results.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain and update compensation data in HRIS systems.
- Prepare and maintain compensation-related data & reports.
- Conduct analysis and interpretation related to company Compensation data from HRIS, Compensation Tool, and other internal resources.
- Provide insights and recommendation to management based on trends and analytics.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws, legal and regulatory requirements related to compensation, such as FLSA, State Minimum Wages, etc.
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with HR, Finance, and Leadership teams to align compensation strategies with the company goals.
- Support the annual salary review and open enrollment process.
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries to compensation.
- Assisting the Denny’s health plan with day- to-day activities involving protected health information subject to the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and Denny’s HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures, including but not limited to, assisting with employee claims, coordinating benefits, determining health claim status, determining eligibility for coverage, budgeting, renewal, billing and collection activities, obtaining assistance from third-parties for plan functions, and any other duties delegated by the HIPAA Privacy or Security Officer.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
Proven 2 to 4 experience in data analysis (Preferably in Compensation or related HR Data role)
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in HRIS Systems and advance Excel Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suites (Words, Powerpoint), and communication platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
- Understanding of compensation practices and market benchmarking
- Familiarity with applicable labor laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data visualization tools and advance HR analytics (Power Pivot, etc.)
