This position will include notarizing applications, affidavits and repossession releases for the repo department. This candidate will be responsible for keeping a track of their monthly notary volume and assuring all notary logs are received from employees. Responsibilities will also include processing a small volume of repossession affidavits and paper titles.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Full time Notary Public
- Maintain an organized and accurate notary log
- Required to stand for long periods of time when witnessing employee signatures
- Other duties may include but not limited to, folding documents, helping process documents, etc.
Competency:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Neat and legible hand wring.
- Able to notarize a minimum of 1000 documents a week.
- Good communication and organizational skills a must.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Employee must have or obtain a valid (non-expired) certificate from the state of Maryland allowing them to notarize legal documents.
- External candidates must have a notary stamp at time of employment. PDP will supply notary stamp for internal candidates.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience with vehicle titles, DMV’s or auto dealers preferred. Accurate keyboarding skills.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Good verbal communication skills. Excellent phone manners.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Analytical ability. Ability to work independently.
Computer Skills:
AS/400, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Certificates and Licenses:
Notary Certificate from the state of Maryland
