Position Highlights: Position: Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Surgery Salary Range: $61,008 - $74,088. We offer competitive compensation that aligns with NIH Guidelines and takes grant funding into account. The salary offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience. This is a temporary Training position (3-5 years). After 5 years, position will be reviewed/moved. Grant Budgeting considerations Location: Evanston, IL Full Time/Part Time: Full Time, onsite Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00am to 4:30pm Required Travel: None What you will do: Under minimal administrative direction, fellow will direct functions of complex surgical research including managing clinical data, preparing abstracts, manuscripts, presentations Develop advanced study objectives, study design, submit, implement, and review all aspects of research protocols Collaborate with principal investigator and other investigators as needed to develop protocols and review data collected to generate publications and presentations relevant to the area of study Participate in surgical research meetings and journal club meetings to discuss, present, analyze, and integrate feedback for personal as well as colleague projects Ensure all equipment required for research is functional and supplies available to perform complex research studies Using excellent communication skills, work collaboratively, communicate, and support all research staff and laboratory personnel as well as supervise and train new personnel as needed May be required to use high fidelity surgical simulators in the training and quality improvement of health care providers. What you will need: Education: Doctoral Degree (MD or PhD in related field) Experience: Experience performing and contributing to in academic research throughout one’s graduate studies.
