The Materials Associate is responsible for a broad range of warehouse and material control activities. The position will report to the Operations Specialist and performs functions such as shipping, receiving, and handling of parts and finished product. This role is responsible to fulfill the materials needs of other internal teams, such as product testing, order fulfillment, and repair, as well as coordinate shipments and deliveries with external stakeholders. Using hand operated tools and powered equipment, this role will physically move products into and out of the operations facilities as needed indoors and, occasionally, outdoors in various weather conditions. The position is also responsible for the safe use and maintenance of all company equipment and expected to be proactive in communicating and assisting in the improvement of company processes and procedures.

Functions
- Load and unload delivery vehicles by hand, with lift trucks, or using other equipment.
- Inspect material and inventory received from suppliers for quality and accuracy; document and escalate any discrepancies; receive customer returns into applicable systems.
- Put-away, pick, and move inventory between storage, production, shipping areas, and other stocking points
- Attach identification to containers, skids, and other surfaces to identify and track material and inventory as it moves between locations
- Maintain accurate inventory records using various software applications (e.g., Microsoft Navision ERP, Depot, Microsoft Excel) and participate in inventory cycle counts.
- Ensures the accurate and timely distribution of material to customers and coworkers based on information from requisitions.
- Obtain freight quotes, schedule LTL/FTL shipments, create and manage required documentation.
- Coordinate shipments and deliveries with external stakeholders including, but not limited to; customers, freight carriers and third parties.
- Prepare material for bulk and small parcel shipping using hand tools, packaging material and labels, process shipments in ERP system
- Maintain company equipment and recordkeeping of equipment maintenance logs
- Practice the proper use of equipment, following all laws and regulations as well as compliance with company policies
- Actively attend and contribute to meetings to improve performance, identify and communicate issues, and assist in the success of organizational goals
- Maintain general cleanliness of work areas and the facility
- Other duties are assigned as necessary including label printing and scanning of barcodes for processing products, for example
Skills
- Knowledge of general warehousing practices
- Attention to detail and sense of urgency with respect to shipment schedules
- Interpersonal skills, such as active listening and mindfulness of others with observation and awareness of impact on other groups
- Basic to intermediate skill in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with ERP warehouse management software
- Ability to manage and execute multiple priorities.
- Effectiveness in verbal communication and ability to write coherently in electronic format.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- At least 3 years of experience in warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manipulate electronic forms and send electronic communications
- Must be able to lift product by hand up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours a day.
- Able to qualify and operate powered equipment including forklifts.
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr.
