About the Program:
We run an engaging and hands-on Veterinary Camps and Classes designed for children ages 6-14, where campers learn about the veterinary world through interactive lessons, animal care demonstrations, and real-world applications. The camps operate both overnight and day camp formats and the classes are run through the fall and spring on the weekends.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Veterinary Instructor who can teach engaging lessons on veterinary topics to children ages 6-14. The instructor will be responsible for learning our existing curriculum,adapting it to meet the needs of the campers, and delivering fun, educational, and interactive lessons that spark curiosity about the veterinary field. You will also have the opportunity to create new curriculum.
Responsibilities:
- Teach structured lessons on veterinary topics such as animal anatomy, pet care, common animal diseases, and veterinary procedures.
- Lead hands-on activities and demonstrations, allowing campers to interact with animals and learn about the veterinary profession in a fun and safe environment.
- Ensure a positive and supportive learning environment for the kids.
- Adapt lessons and teaching style based on the needs and engagement of campers.
- Work alongside other instructors to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Provide supervision and care for the kids during the classes.
Qualifications:
- Preferred candidates will have experience in the veterinary field, such as being a veterinarian, veterinary technician, or veterinary student.
- Experience working with children is a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to teach complex topics in a fun and accessible way.
- Passion for educating and inspiring young people about animals and veterinary science.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and age groups.
- Must be reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
