We believe that without Business Development, there is no revenue growth.
The Business Development Representative will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and building relationships with potential clients. The ideal candidate will be organized, have a strong sales background, and be comfortable with cold calling. In absence of sales experience, the innate desire to learn the craft of selling and the drive to accept failure and persevere.
Attention to detail is crucial in this role, as the representative will be responsible for managing leads and ensuring accurate data entry in Hubspot. The representative will also be responsible for lead elevation and creating processes to streamline the sales cycle.
Pace and Scheduling - Description of the role that time plays in the way the worker performs the tasks required by this job:
- Using provided tools, create lists of prospects to call on. Prepare with key pieces of information about the prospect in order to have knowledge of the company prior to the phone call.
- Call on employers and take them through the lead elevation process with the goal of scheduling a meeting and setting up the producer team with great opportunities.
- Gain key pieces of information in order to vet the opportunity.
- Keep diligent notes of interactions with prospects and organize information in HubSpot CRM.
- Perform follow-up calls on a timely cadence in order to nurture businesses that are not ready to meet at the time of engagement.
- Build relationships with prospects in order to build trust and longevity. Gain new information in order to build value and schedule a meeting.
- Notate learned processes in order to produce a teachable, replicable roadmap for future BDRs.
- Attend sales meetings, trainings, and workshops to hone skills and continue improvement & efficacy on the phones.
