About 19th Judicial District Court
The Nineteenth Judicial District Court is one of Louisiana’s 43 judicial districts and has original jurisdiction of all civil and criminal matters in East Baton Rouge Parish. There are fifteen elected judges (Division A through Division O) in the 19th JDC.
About the role
The Case Manager is responsible for assisting program participants achieve success in completing program requirements. Work is performed under the supervision of the Recovery Court Coordinator, and involves meeting with participants on a regular basis, and providing reports to the Court concerning participant compliance. Performs other work as requested.
Location & commitments
- Office located within the 19th Judicial District Court
- Full-time
- Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- On-site in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Responsibilities
- Conduct participant intake services into the Recovery Court Treatment Program, providing case plan referrals for housing, employment, skill training, medical, etc.
- Serves as a liaison with the program's primary care and ancillary service providers (i.e. housing, employment, educational opportunities, and medical, legal, and social services)
- Monitors and evaluates participants' behavior to ensure program compliance, including drug screen participation/results, educational requirements, frequent verification of employment, and public safety
- Maintains frequent communications with treatment staff to ensure reporting accuracy
- Assists with drug screening as necessary
- Provides case management reports at weekly participant staffing and status hearings, to include reports from all facilities participating in participants' recovery or educational endeavors
- Maintains required statistical participant information for monthly reporting in the Louisiana Supreme Court Drug Court case management system
- Cooperates with Drug Court programs in other jurisdictions to perform related service requests
Candidate Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Corrections, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
