Job Description Job Summary: Under general supervision, uses advanced skills gained through education and experience to support, in an assigned functional area, the preparation of financial and mortgage related entries and the general review of general ledger accounts. Established procedures and general guidance and direction are provided to perform a variety of complex, non-routine tasks. Originality and ingenuity are required to locate, select and apply appropriate procedures, processes and techniques to assignments that are broad in nature. Resolves most questions and problems and refers new or unusual issues to a higher level. May serve as a resource to others in resolving complex problems and issues. Job requires limited decision making ability. Routine contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain, clarify or provide facts and information. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Uses general ledger accounting software to assist in balancing daily reconciliations. • Prepares general ledger entries on a daily basis. • Researches assigned transaction and account discrepancies. • Assist in processing fundings and balancing entries of mortgage loan closings • Performs wire transactions and disbursement entries. • Works with incoming mortgage payments • Assists in maintaining policy and procedure manuals. • Assists in preparing requested information for internal/external auditors. • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge of: • General office practices, procedures, and methods • Basic accounting concepts, practices and procedures. • General ledger accounting software or ability to learn specific tasks. • Mortgage related funding, disbursing and balancing task • Loan operations experience preferred Skill in: • Entering transactions into an automated accounting system. • Reconciling bank and general ledger accounts. • Analyzing and adjusting basic transaction and account balance discrepancies. • Gathering and compiling information. • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, electronic communication and maintain spreadsheets and databases. Ability to: • Identify and resolve basic accounting problems. • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels. • Demonstrate efficiency and flexibility in performing detailed transactional tasks in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. • Provide a high level of customer service. Educational/Previous Experience Requirements: • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of accounting support experience required. • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training. ~or~ • An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training approved by Human Resources. Licenses/Certifications: • None required.
