Overview
We are a fun, friendly and caring dental office team seeking to add an additional dental assistant as well as a dedicated and professional Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. These roles are crucial in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. The ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor, making a positive first impression on our patients and visitors. Experience in a medical or dental setting is preferred, particularly with knowledge of relevant terminology and software.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
- Handle incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate staff members or taking messages as necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Process patient information using electronic health record systems such as Dentrix.
- Assist with medical coding and billing inquiries, ensuring accuracy in patient accounts.
- Perform X-Ray taking/scheduling and coordination when applicable.
- Provide information about services offered, including Prosthodontics and Pediatrics, to patients as needed.
- Utilize aseptic techniques when handling sensitive materials or equipment.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless patient flow and communication.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in a front desk role within a medical or dental office is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, and relevant software (Dentrix).
- Familiarity with medical coding practices is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in managing medical records accurately while adhering to privacy regulations.
