Corner Resources is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist in the Safford, AZ area.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the operating room, assisting surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent teamwork, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare operating rooms by assembling surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure all surgical tools and power equipment are functional and troubleshoot / report any faulty instruments.
- Maintain a sterile environment following strict aseptic techniques.
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, retractors, sutures, and other necessary materials.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon to facilitate a smooth procedure.
- Monitor and account for all surgical instruments, sponges, and needles throughout the procedure.
- Assist in controlling blood and fluid loss as needed.
- Ensure proper specimen collection, labeling, and handling.
- Assist in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Restock operating rooms with necessary supplies and report special requests.
- Maintain accurate surgical counts before closure of incisions to ensure patient safety.
- Assist with decontamination of surgical areas, furniture, and equipment according to protocols.
