Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to oversee our automotive service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and service writing, with the ability to lead a team of service technicians effectively. The Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery, maintaining customer satisfaction, and processing of sourcing parts, and ticket processing and input into shop management software.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service.
- Oversee service writing processes, including accurately documenting customer requests and vehicle issues.
- Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Facilitate communication between customers and technicians, transmitting information clearly to ensure understanding.
- Promote upselling of services such as tire service, oil changes, alignments, and suspension work.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations within the service area.
- Provide training and support to service technicians to enhance their skills in automotive repair.
Skills
- Proven experience in automotive repair, with hands-on knowledge of various services including tire service, auto body repair, oil changes, alignments, and suspension work.
- Strong service writing skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to customers.
- Excellent leadership abilities to manage a team of service technicians efficiently.
- Proficient in upselling techniques to drive additional sales within the department.
