This position requires 12 shifts from 7AM-730PM or 7PM-730AM.

Job Requirements :
- The Telemetry / Med Surg RN is responsible for the clinical management of the unit.
- Assures compliance with professional, regulatory, governmental, and organizational standards.
- Assures satisfaction of patients while educating them on lifestyle changes and updates regarding the diagnosis, medication, and discharge instructions, prior to discharge from the hospital.
- Charts observations and activities related to patient care in electronic health record.
- Provides safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population using critical thinking skills, advocacy abilities and ethical approaches.
- Guides and directs assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care.
- Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patients condition and reports changes to the physician.
- Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, infection control and hospital policies and patient care outcome standards.
- Actively participates in Quality Assurance / Process Improvement initiatives to improve patient safety and outcomes, such as monitoring compliance of core measures, infection control practices, etc.
- Collects blood specimens by venipuncture or micro techniques for laboratory analysis necessary for patient treatment and diagnosis.

BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (required)
Current Registered Nurse License in this state (Illinois)
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
5 years of experience as an RN
Able to work various hours as needed.
