The Assistant Program Director is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations and management of the program. The Assistant Program Director helps develops, manages, reports on and is accountable for the activities of the program and its staff, in their entirety. They will also be involved in the intake and recruitment of new clients and promote participation in various community activities. They support the Program Director and The Chief Clinical Officer in the areas of human resources, finances, and general accountability. Will help serve as a point of contact within the clinical side and administrative departments.
Compensation: $50k / year based on experience
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Helps oversees and manage clinical programs and services
- Supervises staff
- Program Participant (client) role modeling and leadership
- Helps review the participant treatment plans
- Assists in training new and current staff
- Recruits and interviews prospective employees
- Helps to conduct and attend staff meetings
- Work with government monitors and project administrators on contracts
- Monitor the maintenance of files and records in the outpatient department, including conducting regular audits.
- Prepare all reports for appropriate agencies or contracts and coordinates with Contract Administrator.
- Collaborate with partner agencies and community members.
- Ensures that individual and family psychotherapy and case management services are being delivered to the individuals served as required.
- Helps to assign caseloads, evaluates performance for quality assurance, conducts new employee orientation and manages staff development and training.
- Ensures compliance with all federal and state licensing requirements, while internally adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Ensures appropriate assessments for all clients
- Collaboration with CCO on development, tracking and reporting of outcomes of services.
- Performs other related duties and activities as required.
- Compliance with policies and procedures associated with being the assistant to the program director
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience in Substance Use Disorder / Mental Health counseling
- Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency of work experience; master’s degree preferred
- Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures in areas such as Finance, Utilization, Program Planning, Licensing, Funding, Human Resources, Agency Policy/Procedures, etc.
- Strong leadership qualities and detail-oriented
- KIPU experience required
- Credential from CCAPP, CAADE, or CADTP required
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- CPR/First Aid Certification required
- Should be proficient in a variety of office software (email tools, spreadsheets, and databases) and hardware (copy, fax, computer, etc.)
- Is sensitive to religious, ethnic and cultural differences in others and shows respect and empathy.
- Has the ability to listen actively when spoken to and effectively communicate their thoughts to others
- Valid California driver license and clean driving record
- Must agree to abstain from all illegal drug and alcohol usage during the time of employment.
- Can work alone, but also as a team with fellow staff in the business setting and actively seek out advice and/or guidance to solve problems
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Hiring is contingent upon completion of a Background Check, TB test, and clearance on a drug screen and pre-employment physical. Current First Aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain upon hire.
