Summary: 

603 Legal Aid (603LA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing civil legal assistance to low-income individuals across New Hampshire. We work to ensure equal access to justice through direct services, advocacy, and community education. 


603LA is seeking to contract a Technology Project Manager to lead a 22-month Technology Innovation Grant-funded (TIG) initiative focused on rebuilding our website on a new platform and developing a comprehensive public resource library for individuals seeking civil legal assistance. This contractor will ensure the successful execution of the project by coordinating stakeholders, managing timelines, and ensuring accessibility and usability best practices are followed. 


The Technology Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end management of website content, including updating of website content to ensure it is accurate, aligns with our mission, effectively communicates our message to our audience, and enhances user experience and accessibility. The Technology Project Manager will work closely with a third-party website development contractor in the restructuring and launching of our website onto a new, more robust platform intended to improve access to self-help materials for self-represented litigants seeking legal information. This role requires project management skills, strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with various teams both within and outside the organization.

  

Key Responsibilities: 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Project Management:  
  • Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of the website rebuild and resource library. 
  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring milestones are met. 
  • Identify risks, troubleshoot challenges, and proactively adjust project strategies.  
  • Document project progress and prepare reports for funders and leadership. 
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with web developers, designers, content creators, and other vendors to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of services. 
  • Content Management: Collaborate with 603LA staff, community partners, and subject matter experts to review, standardize, and publish education materials and self-help guides. 
  • User Experience: Ensure the new platform aligns with best practices for usability, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility (WCAG compliance). 
  • SEO and Analytics: Implement SEO best practices and track website performance using analytics tools, providing regular reports and insights to improve user engagement. 

Preferred Responsibilities: 

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all related projects, including project plans, user guides, and training materials. 
  • Content Distribution: Collaborate with Communication Coordinator and others to develop and implement a strategy to market the new digital content to the public through multiple channels. 
  • Staff Support: Provide support to staff on website content management and updates. 
  • Ancillary Technology Work: if capacity allows, provide support for 603LA technology projects aligned with the TIG grant (e.g. website integration and functionality with new LegalServer site).  
  • Grant Reporting: Complete required funding reporting for this initiative in collaboration with other staff.  


Minimum Requirements: 

  • 2-3 years of experience managing technology projects, particularly website development and digital resource initiatives; 
  • Experience working with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal); 
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS; 
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices; 
  • Experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics); and 
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 

  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, timeline management, and stakeholder coordination.  
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG); 
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; 
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva);  
  • Professional demeanor in interactions with clients, co-workers, supervisors, funders, and colleagues in the broader community; 
  • Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail; and 
  • Ability to work effectively within deadlines, under time-sensitivity, and with changing work priorities. 


Future Endeavors 

In the future, our hope is that this contractor would help generate and create other technology projects at 603 Legal Aid to achieve our goal of being the premiere legal-tech organization in NH.  This is subject to the receipt of sufficient funding (grant or otherwise) to support such projects, along with other determinative factors. 


Payment: 

This position is a part-time 1099 contract position for up to 30 hours per week. The pay rate starts at $40 per hour for those meeting minimum requirements and may increase depending on experience. You must be authorized to work in the United States.
